The Nasarawa State Police Command arrested two suspected armed robbers and recovered a locally made firearm and a stolen motorcycle during an operation in Nasarawa town.
The suspects, identified as Isaac Audu and Jamilu Yusuf, were arrested by officers of the Nasarawa Division on allegations of criminal conspiracy and armed robbery.
A statement released by the state spokesperson on Sunday reveals that preliminary investigations showed that the duo, armed with a locally made weapon, allegedly attacked a resident in the Foundation Area, behind the Federal Polytechnic Staff College, Nasarawa, in the early hours of Saturday, December 20, 2025.
During the attack, the suspects allegedly robbed the victim of an unregistered Bajaj motorcycle.
Following information, police officers followed the suspects and arrested them shortly after the incident.
During the operation, a locally made firearm and the stolen motorcycle were recovered.
Confirming the arrest, Police Commissioner Shetima Jauro Mohammed commended the quick response of the officers involved and urged the command staff to remain proactive and vigilant in the fight against crime.
He also assured the residents of Nasarawa State of adequate security, particularly during the festive season, and pledged the command’s continued commitment to the protection of lives and property.
