One person was shot when armed bandits attacked Baidi village in Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The incident was contained in a post shared on X on Monday by security analyst Bakatsine.
According to the publication, the attack occurred on Sunday night during the Isha (night) prayer.
Bakatsine said the gunmen stormed the community, shot one resident and looted several stores. They also raided a phone charging point in the town.
“Yesterday, during the Isha (night) prayer, armed bandits attacked Baidi village, situated about 3 kilometers from Tangaza town, Tangaza local government area of Sokoto state. One person was shot during the attack, several shops were looted and a phone charging point was raided. Fearing a possible return of the attackers, residents fled their homes,” Bakatsine wrote.
The village of Baidi is located about three kilometers from the city of Tangaza.
At the time of filing this report, there was no official statement from security authorities regarding the incident.
