Security forces neutralized Amadu, a wanted kidnapping kingpin, during a military operation in Jama’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Details of the operation were made public in a post shared on X on Monday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.
The publication revealed that the raid was carried out in Malafiya town, Atiku district, after troops received credible intelligence about the location of the criminal group’s hideout.
Amadu was identified as the head of a gang involved in kidnappings, cattle rustling and armed robbery in Malafiya and nearby communities.
He was also among the most wanted suspects by security agencies.
According to the report, troops launched the operation on Sunday with the aim of arresting members of the gang. However, the mission sparked a shootout between the troops and the suspects.
“During the exchange of fire, Amadu attempted to flee and was neutralized,” the post said.
After the operation, a locally made pistol was recovered from the scene.
The update added that calm has since returned to the area, while security personnel have stepped up patrols to prevent criminals from regrouping or carrying out further attacks.
