The Kano State Police Command has rescued one Sarkin Noman Kano, Alhaji Yusif Nadabo, after foiling a kidnapping attempt in Garun Mallam Local Government Area of ​​the state.
The command confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Saturday by its spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa.
According to the statement, the attack occurred around 11:30 p.m. on August 29, when suspected bandits stormed the town of Garun Mallam and started shooting in the air.
The gunmen kidnapped Alhaji Nadabo during the attack, while three residents were shot and wounded.

“The injured victims were identified as Yusif Nasiru, 20, Salisu Garba, 20, and Ibrahim Hassan, 20, all from Garun Mallam town,” the statement said.
Police said tactical teams, patrol boats and reinforcements from nearby divisions were deployed immediately after receiving a distress call.
Officers, working with community members, pursued the fleeing suspects, forcing them to abandon the kidnapped traditional holder.
“The bandits abandoned the kidnapped victim and fled the scene,” police said, adding that Alhaji Nadabo was rescued unharmed.
The rescued victim and the three injured residents were rushed to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital for medical treatment.
The command said confidence-building patrols had been intensified in and around Garun Mallam to prevent another attack, while a manhunt had been launched to arrest the fleeing suspects.
The Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the quick response of the police teams and commended residents, vigilante members and the Neighborhood Watch Corps for supporting the rescue operation.
He also urged residents to remain calm and continue providing useful information that can help security agencies arrest those responsible for the attack.
