A girl allegedly abducted from Jada in Jada Local Government Area of ​​Southern Adamawa State has been found in the neighboring Mayo-Belwa LGA.

The Adamawa State Police Command said the girl, 10-year-old Ummi Jafar, had been abducted by unknown persons from her home in Jada.

“Upon receiving a report, police officers quickly responded and launched a search operation. The child was found abandoned in Mararaba Mbilla, Mayo-Belwa LGA,” the police said in a statement.

In a statement signed and sent to journalists on Thursday afternoon by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, the command added: “The boy was immediately taken to a medical center for examination and was subsequently discharged.

Nguroje added that the girl was in police care, while efforts were made to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible.

“The Command assures the public that the investigation is ongoing and that all persons related to the crime will be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law,” he stated.
