Eleven people died in a bus accident. The bus was from Abia Line Transport Company Ltd. Two babies were among those who died.
The accident happened on Sunday at around 12:45 pm. It took place near the Umuika Junction on the Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt expressway.
A person who saw the accident told ABN TV what happened. They said the driver of the Sienna bus fell asleep while driving. The bus then hit a truck and crashed into some bushes. This caused the deaths of the passengers.
The authorities have not made an official statement yet. However, another person who was there, named Ochiegbu, talked to ABN TV. He said it was a terrible accident and that he called the FRSC to come and help.
Ochiegbu was driving on the Umuahia part of the road when he saw the crash. He stopped to help.
Videos on ABN TV showed people crying and trying to help the victims. They were trying to move the injured people away from the road.
Up to now, the FRSC and Abia State Police Command have not said anything official about the accident.
