A Senior Non-Commissioned Officer, SNCO, at the Kuje Medium Security Custody Center in Abuja has been found dead after allegedly shooting his commanding officer.
The incident occurred around 9:37 a.m. on Monday, September 7, while staff were on duty at the detention center.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the SNCO fired at the commanding officer, but missed when the officer walked away.
The SNCO was later found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and died from the wound.

“The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear and an investigation has been launched to establish what led to the shooting,” Makama reported.
The remains of the SNCO were evacuated to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, UATH, for further measures.
