Popular Nollywood actor, Deyemi Okanlawon, shared how using social media less hurt his growth in the entertainment world.

The Yoruba actor talked about this in his recent interview on the Echoo Room Podcast.

While talking about the problems he faced early in his acting career, Deyemi said producers often said no to him because he didn’t have many followers on social media, even though he was very talented.

“Not having Instagram followers slowed me down. I used to think, ‘I work really hard on set. Why does the number of followers matter?’

“Then, I realized there’s no use in fighting it. Some people care more about the social media brand than the actual work. So, I decided to start building my own brand.”
