Cyrus UN, lawyer for Jennifer Elobor, the National Youth Services Corps, NYSC, a member attacked by local security agents in the state of Anambra, has revealed that the attackers threatened to rape her and kill her for daring to speak during the terrible experience.

The lawyer declared this in the Channels Television morning report on Wednesday.

“The security agents were hitting the door and Jennifer was trying to open the door, and simply kicked the door, and almost hit her face.

“Most of them were masked in MUFTI with weapons, so you can imagine how scared the children [corps members] were.

“They [security agents] He did not give any identification. They simply said: ‘Low, low. All the work! You are all ‘Yahoo’ people! ‘

“When they tried to drag them down, Jennifer insisted that if they should take them anywhere, they should allow them [corps members] To call his LGI [Local Government Inspector] Because the body members did not know who the agents were, ”said the lawyer.

“That was when they started touching them.

“She asked them to allow her to change in something appropriate, and they said:” That she is trying to cover, we will see today. We will hit you, we will rape you, we will kill you and leave you, and nobody can say anything, “UNA added.

The lawyer also claimed that Anambra security agents threatened to kill Jennifer Elobor colleagues who tried to defend her.

The Anambra State Government, through the special advisor of the Soludo Governor on Community Security, Ken Emeakayi, condemned the attack on the body member on Tuesday and announced that the perpetrators had been arrested.

Emeakayi added that the agents had been suspended pending the result of their final review.

“They are suspended because when a case has been established against someone, arrests to the person and then deliver it to the police.

“Now, since they were not easily prepared for persecution, which the police will carry out, now they submit to other disciplinary measures within our system, waiting for the final evaluation of the matter, whether they go to court or do not go to court in terms of the victim,” he does.

However, the lawyer described the comments of the assistant to the governor of Anambra about the incident as unacceptable.

The victims’ lawyer said: “Ken claimed that the lady was not arriving, and that is why they could not continue the investigation. That is not true. In fact, when they arrived in the secretariat, those people still fired weapons in the air to intimidate them.

“He was one of the local inspectors who came from the NYSC who told them to allow them [corps members] go; That’s how they let them go.

“If it weren’t for the fact that [the incident] He came to the public. All those things they say are not true. They are not prepared to prosecute; They will not prosecute.

“And, of course, that is not the only repair that our clients seek. There must be consequences for bad behavior, and they [the perpetrators] will pay damage. My customers are looking for compensatory damage and will have to pay.

“Since then we have written a request to the government of the state of Anambra, demanding that these people be processed, and we continue to also guarantee compensatory damage.”
