In the context of the continued attacks by Boko Haram in the northeast and the fear created among the citizens of the communities in the area, the Chief of the Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, has revealed that much more needs to be done to maintain control over the released. territories, as well as full governmental authority established in all areas of the northeast.

In addition to the need to control the liberated territories, General Buratai told the troops: “We must remain prepared to guarantee the final defeat of the terrorists and resist any attempt by the criminals to reestablish control in the liberated area.”

Speaking through the Chief of Training and Operations, Nigerian Army, Major General Enobong Udoh who represented him at the 2020 Army Chief of Staff Ed-el-Kabir Sallah Luncheon with troops from Super Camp 14 Damasak in the state of Borno on Saturday August 1, 2020, the COAS also reminded troops that additional vehicles, combat equipment have been injected into the Theater in the past year, and the Nigerian Army has received additional deliveries of new weapons and armaments from different calibers that will soon be injected into the mission area.

Furthermore, General Burarai thanked Mr. President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari for his unwavering support for the Nigerian Army (NA).

He noted that “the Nigerian army has witnessed rapid development in the past 5 years in terms of equipment maintenance, infrastructure development and troop well-being with the numerous supports of President Buhari.”

Continuing, Buratai expressed his happiness at the Theater’s tremendous successes over the Boko Haram criminals and their international and local collaborators, as well as their auxiliaries.

He took the opportunity to acknowledge the resistance, selfless service, and perseverance of Army Super Camp troops 14 Damasak in particular and 5 Brigade in general for their efforts to secure their Area of ​​Responsibility in the face of intimidating threats from terrorists.

He also praised the Theater troops for their sacrifice, gallantry and patriotism in the face of enormous challenges.

Previously, the Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) N’Djamena Maj Gen IM Yusuf, in his goodwill comments at the event, thanked the Army Chief of Staff for inviting him to be on the occasion and for making that Sector 3 Damasak would receive the Lunch, indicating that the Damasak super camp is part of the MNJTF and also part of Sector 3 Nigeria.

He noted that Sector / Super Camp troops have done very well in counter-terrorism operations as part of Sector 3 Nigeria and as part of the MNJTF and took the opportunity to praise unity of purpose and cohesion between and among MNJTF troops. .

Senior officers who attended the occasion included the Commander of the Operation Lafuya Dole Maj Gen Gen Farouk Yahaya Theater, the Commander of the Air Component, the Air Commander Amadi, Commander 5 of the Brigade and the Acting Director of Army Public Relations , Colonel Sagir Musa.
