The troops of Operation Hadin Kai have frustrated an ambush of Boko Haram and the combatants of the Islamic State of Western Africa (ISWAP) along the Gubio -Damasak road in the state of Born, killing 13 terrorists.

The attack occurred on Wednesday near Kareto in the area of ​​the local government of Mobbar, while the soldiers escorted humanitarian supplies to Damasak.

This was shared in X by the security analyst Zagazola Makama on Thursday.

According to Makama, the insurgents began the ambush by detonating two improvised explosive devices (FDI) before opening fire against the convoy.

“The troops quickly took battle positions and responded with superior fire power that dominated the terrorists.

“Thirteen of them were neutralized on the spot, while others fled in disorder,” Makama wrote.

The soldiers chased the fighters who fled and recovered eight AK-47 rifles, ten magazines, several detonation cable rolls, multiple IED prepared and a large cache of 7.62 mm ammunition.

Although the convoy suffered some damage, with four tires of armored vehicles and two fire trucks, only one soldier was injured and is in stable conditions.

“The escort mission was successfully completed, and the help materials were delivered to Damasak,” Makama added.
