A woman identified as Mrs Chinelo on Wednesday paraded through Ibom Isii villages, Arochukwu LGA of Abia, after allegedly being caught at 2am burying amulets in a compound.
Chinelo, according to the villagers, was the wife of the former traditional ruler of the Ibom Isii.
Videos released by villagers showed the Queen, bound in a red wrapper, being paraded through the villages alongside about 200 villagers singing and playing local musical instruments.
In the video, the woman is seen walking barefoot, carrying a plate that supposedly contained the amulets she wanted to bury.
Some villagers in the video claimed that Ms Chinelo was kicked out of her husband’s home by members of the community in the past, due to alleged infidelity.
After being paraded through the towns, a community source said she was handed over to the elders to confess her mission or declare her innocence.
But another villager said Chinelo had already confessed to her activities when she was caught, saying it is an abomination for anyone to be involved in such action.
However, during the parade, the video showed the Ex-Monarch’s wife walking calmly, carrying the supposed amulets without saying a word.
