The Ebonyi State Superior Court, the Ohaukwu Judicial Division, has sentenced four people hanging for the murder of Chinso Elom, 26 years old.

Elom, popularly known as Oscar, was killed by the people convicted on February 5, 2023 in the NGBO community in the state of Ebonyi.

It was said that the deceased and the four convicts had caused the state's local government area of ​​the State.

Those condemned for dying were Anthony Elom, also known as Tidy, Chibueze Onwe, aka Chief, Chukwuemeka Ugah, also known as Parity and Uchenna Odono, a relative of a senior official in the Council.

The four people convicted on the fateful day in the company of One Thekgod Onwe, which is now in general, led a brand Sienna of a brand belonging to a political party known to Ndulo Umuogudu Akpu Road.

It was said that they stopped in front of the commercial area of ​​the Chinese deceased, near the main market of Okwo NGBO.

According to eyewitnesses, the five men who believed were members of a secret cult demanded that Elom should provide information about the whereabouts of their younger brother with whom, according to the reports, they had misunderstanding.

When I could not provide such information, they tried to drag it to the Sienna bus.

After his refusal to enter Sienna, one of the thugs, Anthony Elom, also known as Tidy, shot him in the head with a shooting gun and died instantly.

The horrible murder caused a pandemmonium that led to a wide protest by NGBO young people who demanded that the murderers be arrested and that justice served.

Four of the murderers who could be recognized by some eyewitnesses were subsequently arrested by the police, while the fifth person, Thankgod Onwe, remains in general.

Later they were accused of the Court for the case of murder preferred by the State.

Delivering the sentence, Judge Esther Otah said that the evidence provided by the fiscal lawyer, including the stories of eyewitnesses, demonstrated beyond the reasonable doubts that the defendants were responsible for the murder of the Chinese deceased Elom.

She emphasized that the defendant's defense was not enough to exonerate them from crime.

The judge added that a forensic control in the weapon then recovered from the murderers also indicated that it coincided with the bullet used to kill Elom.

On why they fulfilled the death penalty instead of pointing to Anthony Elom, who shot the victim, Judge Otah said that the murderers formed a common intention to process the illegal purpose.

The judge said they are responsible for the eventual result of the illegal purpose they pursued and the fact that one of them shot the victim was irrelevant.
