The police in the state of Anambra have said that it will not allow any illegal meeting in the state.

This is coming since there have been reports that on July 7 every year it is used for the recruitment of new members in the Neo-Negro Movement of Africa, a secret cult.

In a press release from the State Police Command, which was signed and distributed to journalists by the command spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the command had deployed operations in several parts of the state.

“The Commissioner of the Anambra Police State, CP IKioye Orutugu has ordered a repression of any illegal meeting in the state.

“This follows the police information led by security intelligence that suggests that the Neo-Negro Movement of Africa can use today on July 7, 2025 to execute plans that could lead to a serious public disorder, including worship initiations and reprisals against rival cult groups in the state,” he said.

He said that a squad in the command, school protection schools (SP) designed to protect schools, students and institutional infrastructure had been deployed in all parts of the state.

He also urged hoteliers, room owners and study operators, to reject their facilities to organize any meeting associated with cult groups or related activities.

Ikenga said: “The CP said that these criminal activities occur within the populated areas of the students and intensified the security deployment with the school protection team that directed the agents of the offensive command.

“The security deployment also implies covert operations with operations in the motor/keke parks and identified points to pinch any unpleasant situation in the outbreak.

“Given the above, the command urges the public to remain attentive and immediately inform any activities, meetings or threats suspicious to the police, since the command is still dedicated to a peaceful and safe environment for all in the state.”
