It was said that the devastating fire began around 2:00 pm in the popular GSM market of the agricultural center in the local government area of ​​the state of Kano.
The fire, which supposedly began in the building (Dan Sileka) inside the market, destroyed more than 300 stores and caused significant losses, particularly on mobile phones and accessories.
Firefighters from the Fire Service of the state of Kano responded quickly and managed to control the fire before it extended even more.
The local government information officer of Tarauni, Adamu Iliyasu Hotoro, informed that shortly after the incident began, the executive president of Tarauni LGA, Ahmed Sekure, arrived on the scene to evaluate the damage and express his sympathy to the affected merchants.
He also emphasized the need for proactive measures to avoid such disasters in the future.
Ahmed Sekure offered prayers by those affected, asking Allah Almighty to give them patience and restore what they have lost with something even better.
In separate comments, Ambassador Jamilu Bala Gama, president of the GSM Trader Association of the Agricultural Center, and Abdula'ziz Usman Mai Tabarma, managing director of the Market, expressed his deep thanks to Sekure for his timely visit and the demonstration of concern while the fire was still ongoing. They mentioned that efforts are being made to determine the cause of the fire.
They also praised Kano's state firefighters for their quick and brave response to containing the fire. Market leadership prayed for divine protection to avoid similar incidents in the future.
