Currently, four suspects are in the Niger State Police command for allegedly destroying electric transformers in its community of the village of GBodoti, local government area of ​​Edati of the State.

The public relations officer of the state command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, made this dissemination in Minna, said the suspects were arrested on September 3, 2025, around 8 am by allegedly destroying electric transformers.

He explained that they were arrested according to intelligence reports, and during the interrogation he confessed the conspiracy and theft of community transformers cables in the villages of GBodoti and Guzzan.

They have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Minna for greater investigation and prosecution.

In a separate incident, the professional declared that one, Muhammad Usman, a resident of the Guiye-Doko village in the state of Kwara, was arrested by the police on September 5, 2025, around 8:30 pm in the city of Makera in Mashegu LG of the State.

He revealed that the suspect was found in possession of two weapons locally made and six rounds of 7.62 mm living ammunition.

According to him, “during the interrogation, Usman confessed to buying weapons in the Soba village through Kaboji, Mashegu Lga, at a cost of N180,000 each and ammunition at N5,000 each of an unidentified person.”

Currently, the police are investigating and working to identify and apprehend the weapons manufacturer.
