Chaos erupted in the state capital of Gombe on Christmas Day when a commercial bus driver lost control of his vehicle and ran over several Christian worshippers.
Newslodge reports that Christmas celebrants were in a procession from Tumfure community to Government House and Gombe Emir Palace to pay homage when the incident occurred.
About 22 celebrants were injured in the accident.
Gombe State Police Command spokesperson Buhari Abdullahi confirmed the incident. He said the injured victims were rushed to Gombe Federal Teaching Hospital and Specialized Hospital for medical attention.
Abdullahi, however, clarified that no deaths were recorded in the incident.
