Hamas has responded to the last proposal of Alto El Fuego presented by the envoy of the Middle East of the USA. UU. Steve Witkoff.
The group reaffirmed its long -standing conditions for a truce in a message delivered to the mediators on Saturday.
Hamas declared that his demands remain unchanged. These include “achieving a permanent fire, a complete withdrawal of the Gaza Strip, and guaranteeing the continuous flow of humanitarian aid.”
These are the same conditions that the group has confirmed in the previous negotiations of Alto El Fuego.
Hamas also established a hostage exchange proposal. The plan would imply freeing 10 living hostages and returning the bodies of 18 hostages who died in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.
Meanwhile, Violence in Gaza continues.
The Ministry of Health, led by Hamas, said on Saturday that Israeli forces have killed at least 60 Palestinians and wounded another 284 in the last 24 hours.
Since the war began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas attacked Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking hundreds of hostages, at least 54,381 people in Gaza have been killed and 124,054 have been injured, according to the Ministry.
It is believed that approximately 20 hostages remain in the captivity of Hamas.
The special envoy Steve Witkoff confirmed the reception of Hamas' response, but rejected it.
He called the “completely unacceptable.”
“Hamas should accept the proposal of the framework that we present as a basis for proximity conversations, which we can start immediately this week,” Witkoff said in a publication on social networks.
“That is the only way we can close a 60 -day fire agreement in the next few days in which half of the living hostages and half of those who died will return home with their families and in which we can have in the proximity conversations substantive negotiations in good faith to try to reach a high permanent fire.”
The White House had already confirmed on Thursday presented by the proposal, which was approved by Israel, to Hamas.
“I can confirm that the special envoy Witkoff and the president presented a fire cessation proposal to Hamas that Israel supported and supported.
Israel signed this proposal before being sent to Hamas, ”said White House Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
Israel Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a firm ultimatum.
