“You are doing well” is a phrase that has become more common than before thanks to the sensation on social networks that Debo Adebayo popularly knows as Mr Macaroni. The comedian, actor, and content creator has carved out a niche for himself by combining humor with the everyday experiences of the character he portrays.
He recently explained how he got what has now become a household name. “It started as early as 2012 or 2013,” Adebayo told Sunrise on Channels TV.
“I was on the set of Face 2 Face playing the role of an extra. At the time, the character he was playing had no name. You know these characters that they name as “Child 1” and “Child 2”. The director now wanted the character to have a name, so when I was about to leave he asked me to put a name on it and out of nowhere I told Mr. Macaroni with the mentality that what we were doing was a comic and Mr. Macaroni was supposed to be a happy joyful companion. So I just said Mr. Macaroni and the name stuck. “
Adebayo, in other interviews with other media, explained how circumstances made him attend a total of four universities before passing out from the National Youth Services Corps, NYSC, scheme in March 2020.
