The veteran Nollywood actress, Moji Apholayan, has revealed that she was on the blacklist in the film industry for refusing to give in to the sexual advances of movie vendors during the early stages of her career.
Speaking in a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, the 57 -year -old actress and daughter of the late legendary actor, Adeyemi 'Adeluv' Apholayan, opened on how the maintenance of her values ​​and dignity arose at the expense of fame and professional growth.
According to Moji Apholayan, at the time when movies with an Idumota headquarters largely financed Nollywood projects, many film vendors demanded sexual favors of actresses in exchange for roles.
His refusal to participate in such exchanges, he said, led her to be excluded from opportunities.
“This is because, at that time, when we had sellers in Idumota, they used to give money to producers to work.
“However, due to the type of training I received at home, I can't change my body for movies. My husband, who married me, has not even done anything. You will notice that I am trying to speak in Proverbs,” he said.
“Because I didn't do it, they held a meeting between them so as not to call me. I didn't say with them. I didn't offer my body by sex.”

Afolayan said that although he clung to his principles, many of his colleagues, including married women, succumbed to the demands of marketing specialists without the knowledge of their spouses.
“Everyone is seeing this program. The people who are doing are doing are doing. Many of them will have their spouses outside while the wives will be with them. I am exposing their secrets now,” he said.
“They told me: 'Is it just my husband?' I was as if you want to help.
“I thank God to stand with my dignity. That is what I am enjoying today. I clung to my virginity.
“I realize among them now. I have only received mercy. They made them stars. His posters were everywhere.
“But when they tried to be alone, there was a great fight, which still happened in that type of relationship. I did not inform my husband at that time.
“It was because I did not offer myself for sex that the roles of movies denied me.”
He also remembered a colleague, now late, who was rejected in a similar way after rejecting the sexual advances of a seller.
“He was not the only person they did. There was a person who was late now, he took his job to a seller there in Arena, but was rejected.
“The lady at that time told me to continue with my nobility. She narrated how the seller told her how she had slept in the industry,” he said.
Moji added that his refusal to sleep with film vendors affected his income and visibility in the industry, but is still proud of the decision to protect his body and values.
“Now they know how it feels. They have made us friendly with social networks. They have pushed us to put films on YouTube. It affected me in terms of income and fame. I appreciate my body more than anything. Even my husband knows it.”
