The legend of Nigerian music and the advisor of the government of the state of Benue, innocent idibia, popularly known as 2face, has expressed a deep anger and pain for endless murders in parts of the state of Benue, describing the situation as a “national emergency.”

In a passionate video message shared online, the singer, who serves as a technical advisor to Benue's state governor in entertainment and community scope, said he was overwhelmed by pain and frustration for persistent violence.

“My heart is heavy. I am terribly sad and angry,” Idibia said in emotional transmission. “What is happening in the state of Benue has become a national emergency. I can no longer understand it. I don't even know what to say at this time. This has to stop.”

He criticized repeated attacks and the apparent failure of the authorities to bring lasting peace to the affected communities, saying that the words of condemnation are no longer enough.

“My sadness, my anger, my frustration: it is overwhelming that this continues to happen again and again. It is no longer something that we can condemn in words. Serious measures must be taken,” he added.

When asking for unity, the Afrobeats icon urged political, traditional and community leaders in the State to rise above divisions and collectively address the crisis.

“Every part interested in Benue must join. We can finish this. I think there is a solution,” he said.
