Lana Adeoye, executive director of Fendini Group, emphasized the urgent need for a strong and effective housing policy in Nigeria to address the housing deficit and promote the production of affordable mass homes.
In a statement published to the journalists on Tuesday, Adeoya criticized the current housing policy as outdated and requested pragmatic approaches and strategic solutions to address the scarcity of housing.
He highlighted the potential of the housing sector as a vital tool for economic recovery, empowering the population and reducing unemployment in the country.
In addition he urged governments at all levels to collaborate with professional organizations in the built environment and research institutes to develop local solutions that are efficient and sustainable.
He reiterated Fendini Group's commitment to deliver affordable luxury properties, particularly through his flagship project, Rayfield Gardens City Estate in Ibadan.
In addition, Decoye advocated the stimulus and the promotion of local construction materials, noting that there has been a growing acceptance of these materials among the public, despite the prior apathy towards its use.
He also praised the housing initiatives of the government of the State of Oyo, recognizing its positive impact on the development of the State.
Specifically, he praised the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, stating that the development of the State is a priority.
He said: “We express his gratitude to the government of the state of Oyo for the opportunity to develop the state of the city of Rayfield Gardens, working tirelessly to meet the deadlines. We are determined to produce more luxury properties that fit the needs of housing buyers at the most affordable rates.
“The Estate City Rayfield Gardens project is a public-private partnership with the state government of Oyo through Oysipa,” he added, describing him as one of the safest investments in the state.
“We are committed to delivering excellence in line with the vision of Governor Makinde for the State,” said Adoye, and added that “our project will provide a serene and beautiful abode for investors and housing buyers.”
However, he urged his team to remain dedicated and focused on achieving their goals, despite the possible challenges.
“As long as you are doing something good, be sure that there will be an act of sabotage, people will defame it, you will sell all kinds of falsehood against you and do all kinds of things to try to tear it down, perhaps as a result of jealousy that cannot achieve what you are doing, but you must ignore them and maintain your work in the future. They must make it that the detractors will only come for people.
