According to reports, the Benue State Police command arrested a man, Torngusha Uswe, to allegedly kill his mother during a domestic altercation in the village of Gungul, local government area of ​​UKUM of the State.
According to a report from the expert in counterinsurgency, Makama Zagazola published in X, the tragic incident occurred on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 2:30 pm during a heated discussion between the suspect and his mother.
Zagazola declared that Uswe supposedly hit his mother in the left jaw with a stick, causing a severe fracture.
According to the reports, the impact led to a strong bleeding from his mouth and ear.
The woman was urgently taken to the Zege Nyion Clinic in Gungul for emergency treatment, but was confirmed dead around 8:00 pm on the same day.
After a report by Terwase Uswe, a relative of the deceased, the police detectives were sent to the scene.
The body was photographed, evacuated and deposited in the integrated morgue of Gungul's memory for autopsy.
The suspect is currently in police custody, and investigations on the incident are ongoing.
