The National Agency for the Application of the Drug Law, Ndlea, Jigawa's state command said it had intercepted more than 1,300 kilograms of illicit drugs from April 2025 to date.
The commander of the state of Ndlea, Musa Maina, declared this during a demonstration as part of the activities to commemorate the International Day against Drug Abuse and illicit drug trafficking.
He said that the war on drug abuse is a collective responsibility to guarantee a healthy and productive society.
Maina explained that with the support of other security agencies, the command managed to take advantage of 1,300 kilograms of illicit drugs from April 2025 to date.
He urged the general public to support the agency's effort informing objective information about drug traffickers and their hiding place.
Also speaking, the president of the state of Jigawa, drug abuse and control committee, Alhaji Khadi Bashir Birnin Kudu, said the objective of the event was to illuminate people about the danger of drug abuse.
