Niger: Flood displaces residents in the Kpautagi community

The new floods have affected the Kpautagi community in the Mokwa local government area of ​​the state of Niger after hours of heavy rains on Saturday, June 14.

The residents said that the downpour, which began on Friday night and continued until the early hours of Saturday, led to mass floods that forced many families to flee from their homes.

The number of victims and the extension of property damage could not be determined immediately.

The efforts to obtain a response from the government of the state of Niger were not successful when presenting this report.

The last flood occurs only a few days after a similar incident in the same Mokwa area, according to reports, claimed more than 200 lives and displaced thousands of residents.

Eye witnesses described previously devastation scenes, with bodies recovered from various parts of the city and families that still look for disappeared loved ones.
