The Niger State Police have arrested a 40-year-old woman, Victoria Ebunoha Chukwumezie, for allegedly trafficking three children in Diko Junction, Suleja Local Government Area of ​​State.
The Command Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said in a statement that on November 5, 2025, at around 5pm, Chukwumeze, 40 years old of Nyanya, Abuja, was seen at Diko junction with three children suspected of being kidnapped for human trafficking.
According to him, “Police officers from Gawu-Babangida division stationed at Diko junction moved quickly and arrested the said suspect. During interrogation, she claimed that she had taken the children, who are between 2 and 3 years of age, from Lambata and was taking them to Abuja for care.”
The children were identified as Kazeem, Ya’amadu and Idris.
The PRO explained that the suspect stated that she would take them to Abuja for treatment, adding that the parents of the children have been informed and investigations are ongoing.
In a separate incident, he claimed that two suspects, Halilu Haggai Haruna and Maiyaki Ayuba, were arrested for conspiracy, impersonation and robbery/extortion following a report in Tudun-Wada Division on the same date, around 1:00 p.m.
Abiodun noted that the duo allegedly posed as EFCC operatives, on October 30, 2025, intercepted a victim on his motorcycle at Shiroro Minna roundabout, intimidated him and labeled him as fraudsters, as well as forcibly taking away his motorcycle.
In the process, the police spokesperson said the suspects extorted a sum of ₦400,000 from the victim and left with the motorcycle.
“The victim subsequently reported the incident to Tudun-Wada division and with the help of technical intelligence, the two suspects were arrested on November 2, 2025 at around 1am at their homes in Sauka-Kahuta, Minna,” the statement added.
