Nigerian Student Breaks World Record for Longest Catwalk

Must Read

A student named Ololade Ayelabola, from the University of Lagos, or UNILAG, has done something amazing! She walked a very long way and set a new record for the Guinness World Records.

Ololade, who is a model, walked 130.62 kilometers. That is a super long walk! She started her walk on October 1st at UNILAG’s indoor sports center, aiming to walk at least 120 kilometers. But guess what? She didn’t stop there. She walked 10 more kilometers, making it 130.62 kilometers total. That’s like walking around a big playground 2,058 times!

Ololade shared her journey on Instagram on a Monday. She said she wanted to show the world how cool and creative Nigeria’s fashion can be. “I’m not just walking for myself,” she said. “I’m walking for all those models who feel they can’t be themselves because of silly rules. I want to show how creative Nigeria is in fashion.”

Right now, experts from the Guinness World Records are checking and confirming her achievement. If they approve it, Ololade will officially hold the record!

Before Ololade, two people named Roberta Brown and Lorraine McCourt held the record. They walked 114.4 kilometers in Dublin, Ireland, way back on September 21, 1983. But now, it looks like Ololade has walked even further!
