The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced the restoration of its national identification number (NIN) services throughout the country.
This, according to the commission, follows the completion of a system maintenance exercise.
In a statement issued on Friday, the NIMC confirmed that all previously interrupted services have resumed.
“NIMC wishes to inform the general public that the recent technical maintenance has been completed and that all services have been restored,” reads the statement.

The NIMC urged the Nigerians to register for NIN to visit the official website to locate the closest registration centers.
The agency also encouraged people to make use of its self -service portal for tasks such as data modification, including name changes.
To further facilitate the verification process, the commission recommended downloading the NIMC Nameouth (Oath.app) application of Google Play Store or Apple App Store for a fast and safe NIN authentication.
NIMC expressed its appreciation for the patience of the public during the interruption of the service, which had affected banks, telecommunications suppliers and government agencies that depend on the NIN verification for its operations.
