The Kano State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has arrested four suspected illicit drug traffickers in Kano.
The suspects were arrested during an undercover operation carried out by operatives of the force’s Anti-Terrorism Unit based in Dorayi Babba, Gwale Local Government Area.
The suspects were identified as Abubakar Abdullahi, 35; Rabiu Baffa, 25 years old; Aminu Lawan, 35 years old; and Ibrahim Idris, 33 years old. They are all residents of Gaida in Kumbotso Local Government Area.
The NSCDC said the arrests followed credible intelligence and a covert operation in Gaida.

The items recovered from the suspects included four sachets of Pregabalin 300 mg capsules, popularly known as “PG”; dozens of Diazepam pills, locally called “Fara”; three tubes of Oshin Solution, also known as “Sholisho”; and three large packages and 20 packages of suspected marijuana.
Kano State NSCDC Commander Mohammed Hassan Agalama said the force had completed its preliminary investigation and would hand over the four suspects and the recovered items to the National Drug Control Agency in Kano for further investigation and legal action.
He also said that the NSCDC would continue to work with other security agencies and relevant stakeholders to address drug-related crimes and activities that could threaten peace and security in Kano State.
The Commander urged residents to continue providing security agencies with credible information on suspicious drug-related activities, assuring them that such information would be treated confidentially.
