Nigerian artist Abimbola Omoyemi, widely known as Oyinlomo Diamond, has once again gained international recognition by receiving the prestigious Oduduwa Heritage Award in Norwich, which covers the Norfolk and Suffolk regions of the United Kingdom.
The award celebrates his outstanding contribution to the promotion of Yoruba culture and Nigerian heritage through his music, both at home and in the diaspora. According to the organizers, Oyinlomo was honored for consistently using her artistic platform to promote cultural identity, unity and pride among Nigerians abroad.
The Oduduwa Heritage Award, known for highlighting Africans who preserve and project their cultural roots globally, described Oyinlomo as “a beacon of tradition whose music continues to unite communities and strengthen cultural appreciation.”
