One person was killed and another injured in a single fatal motorcycle accident that occurred on Tuesday night in Jagilegbo area of Ifetedo, Osun State.
The fatal accident, according to the first incident report issued by spokesperson Agnes Ogungbemi, occurred at around 9:45 p.m. on the township road.
According to the report, “two adult males were involved in the incident, which involved a single unregistered motorcycle.
“The motorcycle, a black TVS model, was said to have been traveling at high speed before the accident occurred and excessive speed was the possible cause of the accident.
“One of the motorcyclists died at the scene, while the second victim suffered head injuries and bruises.
“The injured victim was immediately rescued and shifted to a general hospital for medical treatment and the body of the deceased was deposited at Divine Haven Morgue in Ondo.”
Confirming the incident, the FRSC Commander, Osun State Sector, CC Leye Adegboyega, warned road users against speeding.
He also advised motorists to ensure that their vehicles are properly registered and stressed that compliance with traffic rules would help reduce road accidents.
