Police arrest five suspects that supply motorcycles to bandits in Kebbi

The Kebbi State Police command arrested five suspects for alleged criminal conspiracy, embedding and possession of motorcycles aimed at facilitating bandide in the state.

The arrests, described by the Police as a “great advance” in the fight against violent crime, were made on September 19, 2025 by a patrol team set of officers and guards led by the division police officer of the Kamba Division, Bello Lawal.

According to a statement on Monday by the Public Relations officer of the State Police, Nafiu Abubakar, the suspects, Saifullahi Suleiman, 37, Halidu Adamu, 26, Ibrahim Abubakar, 37, and Sani Kabiru, 22, all the residents of Kamba Town in the area of ​​the local government, were found in possession of three Honda, popular engines Haram.

“According to reports, motorcycles, worth N5.4 million, were acquired from Benin Republic and aimed at delivering to Lakurawa’s terrorist group through an unidentified accomplice of the city of Kangiwa, Arewa Lga,” said Abubakar.

He added that during the investigations, Mubarak Ladan, 28, of the city of Kamba, allegedly tried to bribe DPO with N600,000 to ensure the liberation of the suspects, but was immediately detained and the money recovered as evidence.

Police Commissioner Bello Sani has ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department in Birnin Kebbi to intensify efforts to locate other suspects linked to the case.

He praised the members of Kamba Dpo and vigilant for his professionalism and courage, urging other divisional chiefs throughout the State to replicate said dedication.

Sani reiterated the commitment of the Command to dismantle criminal networks along the Kebbi borders to guarantee peace and security for residents, while attracting the public to provide credible information to help create a crime -free environment.
