The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four suspected members of an armed robbery syndicate allegedly operating in the Iju-Ishaga and Oke-Aro areas of the state.
The suspects were arrested by officers from the Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit, VCRU, following credible intelligence and sustained surveillance, police said on Tuesday.
The spokesperson of the Command, Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed this in a statement issued through the official service X of the Lagos State Police Command.
According to the statement, the suspects identified as Damilare Oluwatobi, 28 years old; Lekan Adenuga, 30 years old; Sheriff Haruna, 22; and David Balogun, 24, were arrested at their hideout in Idi-Oro, Mushin.

Police officials reportedly recovered 25 mobile phones, two laptops, a gold necklace, earrings and three cutlasses during a search at the hideout.
The four suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting investigators in the ongoing investigation, while efforts intensify to locate other members of the alleged syndicate linked to the criminal activities.
The Police Commissioner of the Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the VCRU officers for what he described as their quick response and intelligence-based investigation.
Fatai reaffirmed the command’s determination to dismantle criminal networks operating throughout the state and strengthen the security of residents.
