A child's lifeless body has been discovered by the Gombe State Police command near 'Harin Kwarin Misau' in Gombe Metropolis, after a heavy rain recorded on Sunday night.
DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the spokesman for the command, in a statement, explained that the young man's lifeless body was found in an erosion site of ravines near the rooms of 'Hayin Kwarin Misau', which was approximately 15 years old.
According to the spokesman, the officer in charge of the 'Hayin Kwari Misau' station reported that it was suspected that the child had drowned as a result of the heavy rain that occurred on Sunday night.
Abdullahi said: “Upon receiving the report, a detective team visited the scene to recover the body.”
He added that the preliminary examination of the body did not reveal signs of injuries or violence and no means of identification were found in the deceased, emphasizing that photographs of the scene were taken, and the body was carefully evacuated to the Gombe specialist hospital, where a doctor confirmed it dead.
According to the PPRO, the efforts are currently in progress to determine the identity of the deceased and track their relatives, saying that more developments will be communicated as the investigation progresses.
Abdullahi, then, asked the public members that they can have any information that can help identify the deceased or reach their family so that they are presented or communicated kindly to the nearest police station.
