The FCT police commissioner, CP Aja S. Adewale, revealed this while informing journalists at the command headquarters on Friday.
The CP told journalists that on September 15, 2025, the command received an armed thug report attacking the villages of Kpobi and Kpaduma 3 in the Guzape area of ​​the FCT.
He said that two guards suffered gunshot wounds during the attack and one of them, Bako Pwaza, later died at the National Hospital, Abuja.
The police chief explained that the attackers tried to kidnap two young women, but failed due to a coordinated response team led by himself, the Police Deputy Commissioner in charge of the operations, the fast -response squad commander and other officers.
He explained that the young women were successfully rescued.
The CP added that on September 17, 2025, the same group of bandits attacked again in Karu, where Nafiu Idris was kidnapped, a staff of the Federal Authority of Territory of the Capital, FCTA, Department of Urban Affairs.
He pointed out that acting quickly, the anti-Kidnapping unit of the command, in synergy with the Nigerian army guards, agents of the Department of State Services, DSS, hunters and vigilantes, launched an authorization operation.
He said that the operation was worth September 18, 2025 when security agents assaulted the hiding place of the bandits in the Zinda forest, behind the Nigerian army farm in Kurudu, which borders the state of Nasarawa.
The CP said the gang hired the operations in a fierce shooting battle.
