Police recovers 54 rolled cattle, arrest suspected in Yobe

The Yobe State Police command said that its agents have recovered allegedly subscribed cattle from the border communities.

The command in a statement through its spokesman, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, indicated that the whispered animals included 47 sheep, 4 rams, 2 goats and 1 donkey.

“On December 5, 2024, a suspect, Ibrahim Umaru, 38, of Jammel Village, Jacusko Lga, was arrested in possession of the animals stolen during a police patrol in Babbangida, Tarmuwa Lga.

“The suspect allegedly stole the animals in the border area of ​​Nigeria-Chad,” he explained.

The PPRO of the command appealed to the owners to visit the headquarters of the Police of the Tarmuwa division with credible evidence of property for immediate collection.

“The suspect has been prosecuted in court and convicted,” he said.

The State Police Commissioner Emmanuel Ado, through the spokesman, encouraged the public to inform the missing articles to the nearest police station to allow police officers to facilitate the fast search and possible recoveries.
