Ajayi Crowther University Vice Chancellor, Oyo Professor Timothy Adebayo has urged President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State to save the students and staff of the university along the Ogbomoso-Oyo highway.
The vice-chancellor pointed out that this is necessary to reduce the suffering of staff and students and other road users.
Adebayo, who recently assumed the position of vice-chancellor of the institution, made this call through a statement made available to DAILY POST on Wednesday in Ibadan, capital of the state of Oyo.
He said that university students and staff and other road users traveling the Ogbomoso-Oyo highway are having harrowing experiences.
He appealed to Buhari, Makinde and other concerned authorities to urgently repair the defective parts of the road.
He said the highway has a great economic impact on the state of Oyo, in terms of movement of people and goods, including food.
“I am compelled to call on the state and federal governments to urgently repair this road to alleviate the suffering of road users, especially our students and staff who travel it daily,” he said.
