The famous American R&B group, Shalamar, will illuminate Abuja with an unforgettable concert on October 4, coinciding with the 65 celebrations of Nigeria Independence Day.
The Nigeria news agency (NAN) reports that the event will take place at the International Conference Center, Abuja.
Fans in the territory of the Federal Capital and beyond can wait a nostalgic night full of classic successes and electrifying performances of the Grammy winning trio.
The long -awaited concert, promoted by Icreate Africa in collaboration with First Culture Limited, promises to be a musical journey through the extensive repertoire of Shalamar, so it is a must for the music enthusiasts of the old school and the new fans equally.
The group is recognized by timeless tracks as a night to remember and I can make you feel good.
Highlighting the importance of the show, Bright Haha, executive director of Icreate Africa, described Shalamar’s decision to extend his global tour to Nigeria as a great cultural moment.
“We are delighted to welcome Shalamar to Abuja this weekend of independence. His decision to include Nigeria on his tour is not just an honor, it is a gift that has long been for a vibrant community of music lovers that have taken their legacy for decades for a long time,” he said.
Haha added that the concert would create unforgettable experiences for mature audiences that rarely get events adapted to them.
According to him, tickets are currently available in Jabi Boat Club, El-Amin International School, House 43 and the Istanbul Restaurant, Jabi Mall.
Similarly, Tunde Babalola, creative director of First Culture, said the show goes beyond entertainment.

In a video message, the members of Shalamar Howard Hewett, Carolyn Griffey and Jeffrey Daniel expressed their enthusiasm to return to Nigeria.
Daniel, who pioneered the iconic dance movement known as the “backward” (later called Moonwalk), promised fans that the program would really be “a night to remember.”
Shalamar, held for their energetic performances and contributions to dance music, including the popularization of “body body” in the United Kingdom, are considered one of the best funk and soul groups of their generation.
With more than 25 million records sold before the classical alignment was divided in the mid -1980s, the lasting influence of the group remains strong.
The group’s discography includes successes as friends, making that movement, sweeter as the days go by, there, and I owe you one.
This will not be the first Nigerian output of Shalamar. In January 1982, the band acted at the National Arts Theater in Lagos, before organizing shows with exhausted tickets at the University of Lagos, the University of Ibadan and then the University of IFE (now the Obafemi Awolowo University).
While Nigeria marks his 65th anniversary of Independence, Shalamar’s return promises a night of loud proceedings and a nostalgic experience for the lovers of old school music.
