Taylor Swift paid $160,000 for a permit from New York City to hold her high-profile wedding to NFL star Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden this month. New York the city’s mayor, Zohran Mamdani, said Friday.

Mamdani told reporters that the billionaire pop star had covered the cost of the permit when asked if Swift would reimburse the city for police overtime associated with the event.

“Taylor Swift has already paid the cost of the permit that was filed, which was over $160,000 for that event and for the response to that event,” Mamdani said.

Swift’s wedding, which took place over two days in Manhattan, attracted hundreds of celebrities and required a significant police presence, with officers closing streets around the iconic indoor stadium.

The total cost of the event has not been officially revealed. However, Forbes magazine estimated that it exceeded $20 million.

The couple also donated $26 million to various charities before getting married.
