A Mrs. Stella Nwadigo, a teacher of Christ-Mitots School in Ikorodu, Lagos State, has been arrested for alleged physical abuse of a three-year-old boy, Abayomi Micheal.
Newslodge reports that a video clip showing Stella hitting the boy during a class lesson went viral on social media on Wednesday.
The video, which provoked condemnation from several citizens, was shared on X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook.
Hours after the video surfaced online, the force's Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, issued a statement confirming that the suspect had been arrested.
According to Adejobi: “Stella Nwadigo, 45, the teacher who physically abused 3-year-old Abayomi Micheal of Christ-Mitots School in Ikorodu, has been arrested by the police. She was arrested today, Tuesday, January 8, 2025, immediately after the criminal act. Justice must be done.”
