Residents of Ohirigwe village in Oju Local Government Area of Benue State are shocked following the brutal murder of a 15-year-old boy, identified as Sunday Ela, whose decapitated body was found in a farm.
Members of the community revealed that the incident occurred on October 15 when one John Adima, said to be an indigene of the village but living in Ondo State, invited the youth to join him on his farm.
However, Adima allegedly returned home alone and then escaped from the community to an unknown location.
When the boy did not return, worried villagers suspected something was wrong and launched a search.
Their worst fears were confirmed when they found the teenager’s decapitated body on the farm.
Security officials have since launched an investigation to determine the motive for the murder and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
