Unidentified thieves broke into the office of Gaya Local Government Chairman Mahmoud Tajo Sani in Kano State and carted away valuable items including solar equipment used for the council’s daily operations.
Confirming the development in a statement on Wednesday, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media, Comrade Naziru Mukhtar Gaya, revealed that the robbery occurred on Tuesday night and described the incident as “shameful and regrettable”.
“The office of Gaya local government chairman Mahmoud Tajo Sani was broken into by criminal elements yesterday, resulting in the theft of important items,” he said.
Although he did not reveal the total value of the objects stolen by the thieves, he assured that security agencies have already started an investigation to find those responsible for the theft.
“We strongly condemn this act and ask Almighty Allah to expose those responsible and protect the Gaya local government from such unpatriotic behavior,” he said.
