Three people have been arrested in Adamawa State for alleged kidnapping activities.
The Adamawa State Police Command says it reached the suspects in operations that were part of ongoing efforts to rid the state of crime.
The Command explained on Sunday that the arrest followed a complaint received on November 19, 2025 from a resident of a certain village in Song LGA, who on November 18, 2025, received a threatening phone call from an unknown subscriber.
“The caller demanded that he pay the sum of £2,000,000 or risk being kidnapped and possibly killed,” the command said in a statement signed by police public relations officer Sueleiman Nguroje.
The statement added that upon receipt of the complaint, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Intelligence Department (SID) Yola, to investigate and ensure the arrest of the perpetrators.
Nguroje stated that following the directive, the unknown subscriber was technically traced, leading to the arrest of the three suspects, namely, Ahmadu Alhaji Halilu, 24; Adamu Buba Balejo, 21 years old; and Hassan Alhaji Liman, no age given, all men from Malabu district in Fufore LGA
“During the investigation, the three suspects voluntarily confessed to the crime,” Nguroje said, adding that a SIM card used in the commission of the crime was also recovered and would be treated as evidence.
He said further investigations are underway, after which the suspects will be diligently prosecuted.
