The Minister of National Information and Orientation, Mohammed Idris, said that President Bola Tinubu is not indebted to any full or dark interior circle.
Idris declared that the president welcomes a wide range of perspectives and then makes bold and informed decisions that are only in Nigeria's best interest, not in debt of any clique.
He said this in Abuja on Thursday while pronouncing his speech at the National Summit of APC with the theme “Agenda of renewed hope: the trip so far.”
“You need to study the president very well. You can have your voice; you can say what you want to say; he will listen to you, but his decision is ultimately his. I think it is important that we recognize it,” he said.
Speaking about the issue of the summit, said Idris, President Tinubu remains committed to transforming Nigeria through the renewed agenda of hope, describing it as a bold plane and people who are turning obstacles into opportunities.
“The renewed hope agenda,” said the minister, “it is about positively impacting the life of the people of Nigeria, through bold decisions designed to unleash the entire scale of the Nigerian potential, in a way that has never been seen or done before.”
The minister recalled that President Tinubu inherited a nation in a crossroads and immediately moved clearly and courage. “Among the first decisions that the president made,” Idris explained, “were the elimination of gasoline and foreign exchange subsidies, which have been among the greatest impediments to the progress of Nigeria, which cost us billions of dollars in losses and waste annually.”
He pointed out that “true leadership implies the ability to make decisions that could be difficult in the short term, but it is guaranteed that they will deliver lasting yields.”
Idris said that the results of the president's reforms are now evident in all sectors through large -scale infrastructure, social investment programs and the renewal of the mining and oil sectors of the Nation, among others.
“At the federal level, the highest income has established a new standard for the ambition and execution of large -scale infrastructure projects,” Idris said. He highlighted four exclusive highways: the coastal highway of Lagos-Calabar, the Sukoto-Badagry Superhight, the Calabar-Abuja Superhight and Akwanga-Jauchi-Gombe highway, totaling more than 2,600 km and links of linking and economies throughout the country.
He said: “Another flagship project that drives regional integration is the standard Kano-Kaduna caliber railway. This vital corridor is a key component of the Lagos-Kano Railway Modernization Plan and is being delivered as a priority under the renewed hope agenda.
In the housing sector, the Administration launched the renewed projects of cities of Hope and Estates, an ambitious intervention aimed at addressing the nation's housing deficit while stimulating employment creation and urban renewal. ”
The minister says that to support the growing digital economy, the federal government is deploying 90,000 km of fiber optic cable throughout the country, describing it as “unprecedented scale of broadband infrastructure (which) will not only link Nigeria's digital division, but also supports intelligent governance, attracts digital investments and will need safe electronic services in education, health, travel, etc.” “
Idris said that some 300,000 Nigerian students are now benefiting from the National Educational Loan Fund (Nelfund), while workers access the new consumer credit scheme to buy essential goods.
Speaking about security, Idris said: “Our army has neutralized and arrested thousands of hostiles and rescued almost 10,000 hostages. More than 25 new planes have been acquired, and the Navy has received four new ships.”
He acclaimed the President for establishing the Ministry of Livestock Development and Regional Development Commissions in the six geopolitical zones to modernize and deepen agriculture and also guarantee inclusive and zonal development. “
The minister emphasized that the renewed agenda of hope is holistic and focused on people.
