Five suspected drug traffickers were arrested during a joint operation by troops of the 90th Amphibious Battalion and officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Sapele Local Government Area of ​​Delta State.

The development was revealed in a post shared on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama on Sunday.

According to the publication, the suspects were arrested during a cordon and search operation carried out at around 10:10 pm on September 4 in Ugberukoko community.

The operation was reportedly launched after security officials received information about alleged drug trafficking activities in the Sapele area.

“During the raid, five suspects were detained, while six bottles containing a suspected codeine substance were recovered from them,” Makama wrote.

The publication added that the suspects and recovered evidence had been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation and necessary measures.
