Two dead as gunmen attack community in southern Jos

On Monday night, gunmen killed two people in Darong community, Gyero village, Jos South Local Government Area of ​​Plateau State.

According to Zagazola Makama, the attackers broke into the community around 8:00 p.m. on October 21 and opened fire indiscriminately, causing panic among residents.

“During the attack, Pam Choji and another unidentified man sustained gunshot wounds. Upon receiving a distress call, ‘B’ Division police officer, Bukuru, led a team of officers to the scene and evacuated the victims to Plateau State Specialist Hospital,” a source said.

However, the doctor on duty confirmed the death of the victims upon arrival.

Security officials, including troops and police personnel, have since been deployed to the area to restore calm and prevent further violence.

Meanwhile, the Plateau State Police Command launched a manhunt for the attackers and urged residents to provide credible information that could help apprehend the perpetrators.
