VIDEO: How I achieved the world record of 254 rolls of toilet paper in my head – David Rush

Serial Guinness World Record-breaker David Rush explained how he broke his own record by balancing rolls of toilet paper on his head, successfully balancing 254 rolls in the air.

According to a United Press International (UPI) report on Thursday, Rush, who holds more than 200 Guinness World Records titles, initially set the record for the most toilet paper rolls balanced on his head with 101 rolls in 2021.

He later raised the mark to 195 spins before forming a team to help him reach the latest record of 254 spins.

Explaining how he accomplished the feat, Rush in a YouTube video said the attempt required a team of people to build and position the massive pile before he could balance it.

“It took a whole team to break this world record by stacking 254 rolls of toilet paper on my forehead. The craziest thing is that I had already broken this exact record a few months earlier with 195. Most people would call it a victory, but once you understand what really controls this record, you start to wonder how far you can really take it.

“Because this record seems easier than it is, even though it seems difficult. It’s actually brutal, not because of the weight, although it is heavy, because of the nerves. The moment you tense up, the stack starts moving, and once 200 rolls start moving, that’s it.

“So I took this to the YMCA with 254 rolls and enough people to make it happen, because at the time I couldn’t even get the stack on me.

“First try, instant collapse. But no one gave up. We re-stacked the entire reverse pyramid.

“Second try. The team picked it up, positioned it, walked away, and suddenly you can feel everyone holding their breath. Because now it’s 254 rolls balanced on one roll.

“One bad shift, a nervous correction and everything falls apart. 30 seconds! New world record!

“But honestly, that wasn’t the fun part, so I kept going. One leg, then kneeling, then sitting. 72 seconds!”

“My name is David Rush. I try to break a world record every week. Follow us to see what I try next.”
