VIDEO: Why my ex-husband accompanied Priscilla to the altar – Iyabo Ojo

nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has explained why her ex-husband, Ademidun Ojo, walked her daughter, Priscilla Ojo, down the aisle during her wedding to Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.

In a recent interview with The Morayo Show, the actress said that she deliberately put aside her differences with her ex-husband to ensure that her daughter enjoyed one of the happiest moments of her life without being affected by her past.

According to Iyabo, she was determined to break the cycle of broken homes that had affected previous generations of her family.

“I don’t know, there is something called ancestral curses. And we Africans believe in it. Christians too. I think if you don’t want something to continue, you have to be able to break it,” he said.

He revealed that his parents were separated, a situation he did not want his children to experience.

“So I decided that whatever situation had happened, because my dad and my mom weren’t together either, every mistake that they had made and I had made, my children wouldn’t make it.

“So I had to put aside what I felt, my differences, and do my part. That’s why I said I have paid the price for her to be successful and happy in her marriage,” he added.

Iyabo stressed that despite the end of her marriage, her ex-husband was still Priscilla’s father and deserved to be part of such an important occasion.

“Her father is not dead. He is alive. So why can’t he be there? He didn’t hurt her. He and I had a fight. It has nothing to do with her.

“I made the decision to marry him. So whatever is going on between me and him is between me and him. It shouldn’t extend to my children,” she said.

The actress also dismissed claims that she was an overly strict mother, explaining that while she was firm in raising her children, they eventually understood the reasons behind her parenting approach.

Priscilla and Juma Jux tied the knot in a series of lavish wedding ceremonies held in Tanzania and Nigeria in 2025. The celebrations attracted celebrities and dignitaries from across Africa and became one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings of the year.
