Villagers kill two suspected bandits and recover stolen animals in Sokoto

Villagers of Maikujera and Gidan Boy communities of Sokoto State confronted a group of bandits on Friday, killing two of them and recovering stolen cattle.

The gunmen had previously stolen cattle in Kabunga village in Kware local government area and were heading towards Bakura town in Zamfara state when the villagers intercepted them.

According to the report, brave youths from the two communities confronted the bandits in what was described as a “fierce gunfight”, managing to recover cattle, sheep and camels. Some of the bandits died, while others escaped with gunshot wounds.

The recovered animals were handed over to the Rabah Local Government Area Chairman for control and eventual return to their owners in Kabunga. Efforts to contact the president were unsuccessful.
