American singer Lady Gaga shared why she decided not to respond when people said she might be transgender.
In an interview with Variety, Gaga said she chose to stay silent because she didn’t want people to think being transgender is something bad or shameful.
She said, “I didn’t feel like a victim because of that lie. I thought about a kid who might hear that lie and think that someone famous like me would feel ashamed. I didn’t want that.”
She added, “Sometimes, fixing a rumor can hurt other people more than helping.”
